Poems

On his blindness.

On His Blindness has been written by John Milton. This Poem is in the form of a Petrarchan Sonnet. (A poem of 14 lines in which first 8 lines are called Octave and the last 6 called sestet).  In this poem the poet John Milton who is loosing his eye sight is trying to make a contact with GOD. The poet believe that the God is taking away his talent of writing poetry but in later lines he is saying that writing poetry is service to God and he will continue to do that. The poet also wanted to say that everyone should use the gift of God in its fullest way. One of the other explanation given by the poet is that the gift of natures such as the ocean, the land never take rest and they do their work without any expectation.

The basic idea of this poem can be connected with the UPDESH given in the GEETA, that is  'KARMA kare FAL ki Chinta na kare'.The God will give returning without any discrimination.
